EURO 2012: Warsaw - stadium

The National Stadium in Warsaw is the main polish arena of the Euro 2012. This stadium will host the opening ceremony and the opening game of the tournament.

National Stadium will have space for 55 thousands spectators and was built on the remains of former communist arena called 10th-Anniversary Stadium. The object is situated near the Vistula river, which makes it a great sightseeing area.

The stadium is located near the railway station called Warszawa Stadion. This makes it easy to get to the city center with one of SKM trains in about five minutes. In about an hour the train is able to carry over 26 thousands of fans.

This arena was projected by “Konsorcjum JSK Architekci sp. z o.o.”, “ International GmbH” and “Schlaich Bergermann und Partner”.

During the Euro 2012 tournament – the biggest stadium in Poland will host three group games, one of the quarterfinals and one of the semifinals.
