The City Stadium in Poznań was reconstructed towards the Euro 2012 tournament. The arena was built back in 1968 with only three stands. The reconstruction which started in 2002, and finally finished in 2010 made it a respectable 45 thousand seat stadium.

It is a home venue for both of the Poznań teams: Lech and Warta, which are well known for high attendance at their matches.

This arena was the first one to be ready for Euro 2012 in Poland. The first event after the reconstruction, which has taken place at the stadium was Sting’s concert. That shows how multinational arena this is.

In the first football match at the reconstructed stadium, Lech Poznań has defeated Red Bull Salzburg 2:0. The whole cost of modernization has reached over 150 million euros.

City Stadium in Poznań will host three group games, during the Euro 2012 tournament.
